Saturday afternoon was the Class D matchup between Central Aroostock and the Richmond Bobcats. You want to talk about pressure before the game started the bus rolled in with the Richmond girls’ softball team after they had won the Class D state softball championship against Deer Isle Stonington in a tough battle 14-12. Senior Nick Woods said that he had a slow start finding the right pitch and he mentioned that this was pretty sweet to finish out his senior year after being 0-6 both in baseball and in soccer finally being able to achieve a state championship. He also mentioned that if they had lost this game it would’ve been a lot of talk about how they couldn’t done basically the softball team would’ve had the bragging rights. He seemed relieved to get it done. A lot of Richmond’s runs were off of errors only managing to have 4 hits total CA really struggled in the field though committing 5 errors they had 10 total hits though. Both teams showed that they wanted to win a state championship all in all it was a great day for baseball.
