Central 2010/2011 Boys Basketball Preview (3-15)
Coach Curt Davis points to a stronger backcourt and a fresh outlook as the Central Red Devils look to rebound.
“Basically,” Davis said, “we're going to be a new team. The kids are upbeat in practice. You can see it.”
The Devils lost center Cole Haskell, who has transferred to Old Town. But 6-4 junior Chris Brownell is ready to fill the void underneath.
“He's shown big improvement over the summer,” Davis said. “He's better at getting to the basket.”
David Lord, a senior guard, will be Central's leader. Lord sees the floor well, and can go to the hoop.
“He'll be our top offensive threat, and he'll play a lot of minutes,” Davis said. “This year I think we'll be a little bit better in the guard department than we have been in the past.”
Central will open up the season with a home game against Lee Academy. Click here for a look at the full schedule.
