Bangor, Me-----  Senior Stefano Mancini scored 27 points including 6 in overtime leading the Falmouth Yachtsmen to the Class B Boys state championship with a 72-65 victory over the Camden Hills Windjammers in a game played Friday evening at the Bangor auditorium.

Junior Keegan Pieri gave the Windjammers a 7-5 lead with 5:50 left to play in the first quarter, that is a lead the Windjammers would hold the rest of the quarter despite Mancini hitting a three-pointer with 55 seconds remaining to cut the lead to 16-15. Junior Joel Gabriele hit a three-pointer at the end of the quarter to give the Windjammers a 19-15 lead after the first quarter. Pieri (9) and junior Tyler McFarland (7) combined for 16 of the 19 first quarter points for the Windjammers. Mancini scored 10 of the 15 points for the Yachtsmen in the first quarter.

Senior Sam Horning made a layup with 4:50 remaining in the second quarter to give the Yachtsmen a 22-21 lead. Camden Hills moved ahead 27-21 as they went on a 10-0 run. McFarland broke up the run with 2:50 remaining when he converted a 3 point play when he made a basket plus a free throw, that cut the Falmouth lead to 27-24. Falmouth outscored Camden Hills 5-2 the rest of the quarter to take a 32-26 halftime lead. Mancini finished with 16 first half points to lead the Yachtsmen. McFarland led the Windjammers with 12 first half points.

Falmouth put the lead up to 10 (40-30) when Horning hit a three-pointer with 5:00 minutes remaining in the third quarter. Mancini committed his 4th foul with 4:35 remaining in the third quarter and with the Yachtsmen leading 40-32. Camden Hills took control of the momentum with Mancini out of the game with the 4 fouls.  Camden Hills outscored Falmouth 18-11 the rest of the quarter to cut the lead to 1 (51-50) going into the 4th quarter.

Mancini stayed on the bench with the 4 fouls to start the 4th quarter and Camden Hills took advantage going ahead 54-53 with 4:58 remaining on a McFarland basket. Falmouth's coach Halligan decided that with his team trailing it was a great time to bring in Mancini, and Mancini proved him to be correct as he scored the next 5 points to give the Yachtsmen a 58-54 lead.  McFarland scored the next 6 points to give the Windjammers a 60-58 lead. Senior John Roberts gave the Yachtsment a 61-60 with 1:04 remaining when he made a field goal plus a foul shot. Pieri made a basket to give the Windjammers a 62-61 lead. McFarland fouled out with 8 seconds remaining and the proved to be the biggest play of the game not only because Roberts hit one of the 2 free throws to send the game into overtime but it also forced McFarland to the bench for overtime.  Falmouth outscored Camden Hills 10-3 in the overtime period to go on to the 72-65 victory as the Yachtsmen take home the Gold Ball. Mancini (6) and Roberts (4) combined for all of the Yachtsmen's points in the overtime period.
