Archer shines in Coyotes 7-1 victory over Mattanawcook

Old Town-- The Old Town Coyotes came into this afternoons game vs Mattanwcook Academy looking to bounce back. John Bapst defeated Old Town 13-1 on Friday.

The Coyotes did bounce back thanks to Cam Archer. Archer allowed six hits in six shutout innings to lead the Coyotes to a 7-1 victory over Mattanawcook on Saturday afternoon. Archer finished with six strikeouts and no walks.

Shane Nadeau came up big on the offensive side of things for the Coyotes. Nadeau had two hits, two runs scored and five stolen bases. Gabe Melmed reached base three times. Tyler Murphy and Adam Boucher reached base twice. Archer also got a hit.

Coyotes catcher, Andrew Richardson had to come out of the game due to injury. He suffered an apparent arm injury when he fell on a bat when going for a pop up.

Old Town (2-2) will next play on Tuesday when they travel to Hermon. Mattanawcook (0-2) will try for win number one on Tuesday when they host MDI.
