HAMPDEN – Despite periods of high winds and three hail showers, the Brewer Witches got solid pitching performances from Emily Cox and Morgan Haradon as the pair combined on a 4-hit shutout to lead the Witches to a 3-0 victory over Hampden Academy in a mutual season opener Thursday at the Weatherbee Complex in Hampden.

Lindsay Houp and Deaven Smith each had two hits for the Witches. Kelcey Simpson, Haradon, and Cox each added a single.
