HAMPDEN – Saturday morning at the Turf Field in Hampden, the combination of Deb Colpitts pitching and Sami Schultz hitting sparked the Class B Hermon Hawks to a 4-0 win over the Class A Broncos of Hampden Academy in a high school varsity preseason softball game.

Hermon is scheduled to open their regular season with two games in Caribou on Thursday, April 21, but those games may be pushed back into May due to problems with the Vikings field being ready. Hampden Academy is scheduled to open their season at home on Wednesday, April 20 with a 12:00 p.m. game against Brewer.
