Corinth-- The Stearns Minutemen scored five first inning runs and held off the Central Red Devils to earn a 9-6 victory on Wednesday afternoon.

Dylan Bouchard started off the game with a double. Charlie Tapley ripped a triple that scored a run. Brandon Bouchard,Josh Studer and Jon Dumas hit run scoring singles. Coach, Brandon Portwine was happy to see his team hitting early. The Minutemen struggled in losses to Orono and George Stevens.

"Today was a good well rounded effort. We started off early getting the five runs on the board," Portwine said. "That helped us a lot because they (Central) came back to get three runs. To get out early was big for us. We have been struggling getting runs the last couple of games." Click here to read the full story from this game
