Brian Flynn scored the only goal for the University of Maine hockey team in a 4-1 loss to Boston College in the Hockey East championship game on Saturday night at the TD Garden in Boston, Mass.
The Black Bears were playing without leading scorer Spencer Abbott who was injured during a semi-final win over Boston University on Friday night.
Johnny Gaudreau scored two goals and had one assist to lead the top ranked Eagles in the title game. Parker Milner made 41 saves in goal for the Eagles. Dan Sullivan made 39 saves in goal for the Black Bears.
The Eagles clinched an automatic bid to the NCAA tourney. Maine (23-13-3) will also be awaiting to hear where they will be going for the NCAA Regionals.The NCAA hockey selection show will be today on Noon on ESPN U.
