Softball- Dexter 12 Foxcroft 0

Dover-Foxcroft-- The Dexter Tigers softball team took advantage of 12 walks and cruised to a 12-0 five inning victory over the Foxcroft Ponies on Thursday afternoon.

The Tigers were off balance all day against Ponies pitcher, Kyra Brown. They only held a 1-0 lead going into the fourth inning.

Dexter took advantage of five walks and two hit batters to score five runs in the fourth inning. Dexter (1-0) drew five more walks in the fifth inning. The Tigers only had five hits in the game but they had three of those hits in the six run fifth inning.

"As a team we are really good hitters. I think it is really hard to hit a slow pitcher. We were just getting blooper hits today," Dexter junior Libby Kain said. "The walks really helped us. I think after a few innings we really got into it and got use to the speed."
