Softball- PCHS 9 Narraguagus 2

The PCHS (Piscataquis community high school) Pirates softball team were trailing 1-0 going into the fifth inning. That is when the bats came alive for the Pirates who cruised to a 9-2 victory over the Narraguagus Knights in a class C preliminary round game played on Tuesday afternoon.

Grace Riitano hit a double that scored Abby Burdin and Ali Toby. That gave the Pirates a lead they would not give back. Sarah Hoak also had an RBI in the inning.

The Pirates put the game away when they batted around and scored six runs during the top of the sixth inning. Toby hit a single that scored two runs. Maggie Abbot hit a run scoring single.

Courtney Richardson, Meagan Weeks, Alex Speed, Burdin, Riitano, Abbott and Toby had the hits for the Pirates. PCHS (11-6) will travel to Calais on Thursday, June 7th for a quarterfinal game against the undefeated Blue Devils.

The Knights end the season with a 9-6 record.
