Bangor opens state tourney with 3-1 victory over Gardiner

The Bangor Comrades opened up the 2012 American Legion baseball state tournament in strong fashion.              
Curtis Worcester pitched a three hitter to lead the Comrades to a 3-1 victory over Gardiner at The Ballpark in Old Orchard Beach on Wednesday evening.  Full Bangor Daily story.

Bangor (20-2) will face Zone 4 runner up First Title (Cheverus) in a winner's bracket game on Thursday at 7 PM.

Louis DiStasio pitched a four hitter to lead First Time to a 9-1 victory over Pasttime in the opening day of the state tourney. Full story from the Lewiston Sun.
