Senior League World Series- Lemon Grove 6 Grand Rapids 1

Bangor, ME-- The Lemon Grove L.L. team from Lemon Grove, California won five championship flags before they arrived in Bangor for the Senior League World Series.

Thanks to Frankie Nunez they will get a chance for their sixth championship flag on Saturday at Mansfield Stadium.

Nunez allowed one unearned runs on one walk and four hits in a complete game effort to lead Lemon Grove to a 6-1 victory over Grand Rapids, Michigan on Friday afternoon.

Lemon Grove will face Guatemala City, Guatemala at 2 p.m.on Saturday in the Senior League world championship game. It can be seen on ESPN U.

"We had to win five different tournaments to get here," Lemon Grove manager Andre Simpson said. "We have five championships flags. We call it flag day. We are 5-0 on flag days, we are looking to go 6-0."
